Headteacher's Welcome

Scawby Academy is a small primary school with just over 200 pupils on roll, set in extensive and beautiful grounds in the village of Scawby. We are committed to providing the best possible education for every child. Our school has a very positive ethos, where excellence and enjoyment within learning is highly promoted. Federated with nearby Hibaldstow Academy (which comes under St Hybald's Academy). Visits to our school are warmly welcomed, and encouraged.

We have excellent facilities available to our pupils, parents and the wider school community. These include first rate ICT facilities, with an interactive SMARTBoard in every classroom, and a computer to pupil ratio of 1 to 2.7. We also have a mobile suite of laptops available for class use.

We received our latest report from OFSTED, following the inspection of our school, in March 2014. The inspection judges our school to be good overall, with elements of outstanding practice across all areas. You can view the full report on our school website, where you can also find our school handbook and brochure, as well as more information about Scawby Academy.

We also realise the importance of extended schools, and the need to provide childcare facilities for working parents. We have excellent provision in place. Working closely with Stepping Stones of Scawby, provision is available for a breakfast club, starting at 7.30am and an after school club which runs until 6pm.

We are a hard-working school which simply wants the best for our pupils. All staff are committed to ensuring we provide a good education in comfortable surroundings that enable us to bring out the best in our pupils. With support from parents and, of course, hard work from the children themselves, we are able to meet expectations and provide a good quality learning environment which children and their parents can be proud of.

I look forward to meeting you and your child very soon.

Mr.G.J.Nichols B.A (HONS), NPQH.
